Till 1950 , the suberban Delhi and sub official delhi was a Town -ship of CYCLES , CAMELs, and Tonga . The real capital was limited to India Gate ,Prsident- House, Rajpath , Jan path, Cannaugt place to Raisina range only. Now the city started growing with Cancerous spread and Real- Estate Business tellng on the demands of iving and Life style.
So delhi , the capital of Free India expanded every way and out-skirt villages started Vanishing .And from a township of clerks and officials Delhi became a city of Businessmen and Builders,
Demands of competative living changed the moral and ethical values and principles of Govt head , neck , shoulder - downwards . Every one needed more money for survival and standard plus 'show'.
The 'new wave' set in by 1960--70s. For any business you needed space , licence and Police support. Transport- Vehicles changed shapes from Phatphatia to scooters to cars.
For renewal of Licecences, those who learned better techs saved time. At connaught place smart people scratched their for-head with a 20 0r fifty rupee note facing the counter and like butterfly serving peons came out to save their valuavle time and saved an hour while we were stil waiting in the que beyound the hour.
At higher level of Land, export-import, hotel - licecnce etec you get an appoinmment with secretary level or PA to minister and when you meet scratch your head meaning agreeng to pay, rub your nose for quick sanction , sweep your lips for a better deal and make salute to mean something or make pranam to mean something else..
